COVID Related FAQ - When Can We Travel To Saudi Arabia?

By Kennedee Keys, on May 25, 2021

If you read our blog post from February of this year,  “Obtaining a Visa to Saudi Arabia during the COVID-19 Pandemic,” you may recall, that while Saudi embassies were still processing visa applications, travel to the Kingdom was banned. According to Saudia.com, this policy has been updated, allowing for processing and travel for most visa types.

Before:

  • Processing for all visa types, except non-US tourist visas

  • Not allowed entry: Non-Saudi travelers with any Saudi visa type.

Now:

  • Continued processing for all visa types, except non-US tourist visas

  • Not allowed entry: Non-Saudi nationals holding a tourist visas.

  • Allowed entry: Visa holders of any other type of valid Saudi Arabia visa. All travelers must provide a negative COVID test within 72 hours from the time the test is taken until departure into the kingdom. Travelers that do not provide a negative test will not be allowed to board the airplane.

  • Upon arrival:

    • Non-vaccinated travelers: Anyone not vaccinated must take a COVID test within 24 hours of their arrival, quarantine (at their own expense) for 7 days, and take another test on the 7th day. If the test final test is negative, they are permitted to leave quarantine on the 8th day.

    • Vaccinated travelers: Fully vaccinated individuals must show proof of vaccination with a vaccine certificate by an official health authority. They must carry that certificate during their entire stay in the kingdom. All vaccinated travelers must fill out the Registration Immunization Information Form before traveling to the Kingdom through the following website: https://muqeem.sa/#/vaccine-registration/home to allow them to register their immunization data.
